Commenting Linky Love -- REALLY Back Up!

Really fixed? Really? Yup, looks like Blogger heard the peeps and has brought back the URL link for unregistered users. Awesome.

Guess they had to stop the bleeding, eh?

No more OpenID confusion, no more html links in the comments. A lot of frustrated users and readers, though. It may not be enough, however, to keep more people from switching to other platforms. Blogger may have done too little, too late.

What do YOU think? Is it STILL more difficult to leave comments here than on a WordPress or TypePad blog? Have you just lost all confidence in Blogger?

Personally I'm not going to be doing any "moving" during the holidays, but this sure has made me mad and motivated me to seriously consider going self-hosted on another platform.

Nope, that wasn't it.

I still like wordpress better - I never have to type in verification codes.

Ha! If you ask me it IS too little, too late!

That was such a big prompt for me to move - the attitude that it showed is what really angered me. You know, the actual setup was crap, but the fact that they cared so little for their users as to make no announcement, no mention whatsoever? That really disgusted me.

Way happier at Wordpress. And can I mention that being able to reply to your comments easily is AWESOME!? :-)

Self-hosted WordPress rocks. It's painful transitioning if you don't know HTML and CSS (like *ahem* me) but once it's upand running, it's a dream.

i left Blogger in September, and i haven't looked back. there's a bigger learning curve with Wordpress, but it's sooo much better than Blogger.

ya...Blogger can keep trying to cover their asses, but i think they've just pissed too many people off...too little too late!

I agree-- it takes a (little) while to get comfortable with WP- but once you do it's a breeze and so much better than Blogger. it's still a pain in the ass to comment--there is no "remember me" function? Maybe I'm just lazy?...

yep. That's probably it. :)

I love me some Wordpress. Wordpress online has some javascript restrictions though. If you think about Wordpress you almost have to go with your own site.

I just don't have the guts to change...What about you Vdog, are you jumpin' ship?

This is still a pain in the ass for non blogger users, but way better than feeling like an outcast like before. Good lookin out Vdog! I cherish the solidarity you share with your peoples!

I use Typepad for another blog I'm part of and I love it. That being said, I don't think I would move from Blogger right now.

Really? There are people out there who think commenting on a blog is something difficult?

Gack. What a charmed life.

Confucius says person who puts confidence into blogs has small wiener.

I'm *ahem* confident enough I could figure out Wordpress and self hosting and all that brainy stuff if I wanted. I just don't care enough about it to make the effort.

Blogger is free. Blogger is easy. And people turn all snobby once they go over to Wordpress. What's up with that? Must be a virus. ha!
